Pastoral Team
We are the Pastoral Support Workers (PSW) at Woolgrove School! We are here to help the children with all their pastoral needs. We support children either individually or in small groups for a range of interventions. All of these are tailored to each individual pupil’s needs.

These interventions include:
- Anxiety and behaviour support
- Managing my emotions
- Food exploration (Ooey-gooey)
- Friendship skills
- Play skills
- Bereavement support
- Preparing for a life change e.g. new baby, house move
- Trauma and attachment support
- Soft landings, mind tidy and check in chats
We work closely with Anne, our Family Support Worker and outside agencies such as the MHST (Mental Health Support Team). We also liaise with class teams and parents/carers to make sure we provide the best support for our pupils.
Family Support Worker
My role as Family Support Worker, a member of the Senior Leadership Team and a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), makes me an important link between home and school, working closely with families and staff to ensure the best outcomes for all children. This includes attending meetings with professionals to support families with any issues. My role is very varied.
I work closely with County Transport on behalf of our pupils and parents although final decisions about transport lie with the local authority transport team.
I help run the school council meetings alongside Vicky Litchfield, one of our deputies, and Beau the school dog so we can discuss what the children like and want to improve about their school.
I support our families in many ways, such as with behaviour strategies in the home, being a listening ear, signposting to agencies, courses and respite, as well as through regular check in calls. In my role as a DDSL I also attend TAF / CIN meetings to support families.
I work with Richard Pritchard, deputy head, to support the medical needs of our pupils.
I can be contacted through the main school office and am happy to help in any way I can.
