Departments
All departments across the school are involved with delivering various elements of the curriculum and this provides the foundation for creating knowledgeable and creative thinkers of the future, who are provided with the tools to be successful in the modern world.
EYFS Team
The Early Years Foundation Stage Department has five classes within it. The children are aged between Reception and Year 3. Blue class has the youngest children in the school and has a mix of learning styles. The older children in the department are grouped in their classes with children who are similar ages and have similar learning styles.
Pre Formal Department
The Pre formal class has one class within it and works closely with the Semi-Formal 1 department. The children are aged between Year 3-6. The children’s learning style is one where they require active, hands on learning and lots of opportunities to have sensory breaks.
Semi-Formal 1 Department
The Semi-Formal 1 Department has three classes within it and works closely with the Pre-Formal Department. The children are aged between Year 3 and 6 and are grouped together according to age. The children’s learning style is one where they require active, hands on learning and lots of opportunities to have sensory breaks.
Semi-Formal 2 Department
The Semi-Formal 2 Department has one class within it and works closely with the Formal Department. The children are aged between Year 4-6. The children’s learning style is that they are able to demonstrate learning behaviours such as working in a small group and sitting to attend a whole class session.
Formal Department
The Formal Department has three classes within it and works closely with the Semi Formal 2 Department. The children are aged between Year 4-6. The children’s learning style is that they are able to complete some simple tasks independently and demonstrate learning behaviours such as working with others, sustained attention and an increased level of independence.
